The 4 Of Us Hit Whelan’s

The original line-up of The 4 Of Us returns to Whelan’s on Saturday December 1 for their first Dublin city gig since their triumphant turn at Feile Classical, where they proved to be a major highlight of the Trip To Tipp anniversary festival.

The full-band gig at Whelan’s will be a chance to catch the Murphy brothers in action before they before they embark on a UK tour in the New Year and head back to the studio to record their seventh studio album.

Interspersed by Brendan Murphy’s often hilarious stories and musings on the band’s three decades in music, the band’s set list features all the old hits, such as ‘Mary’, ‘Drag My Bad Name Down’ and ‘Sunlight’, as well as tracks from their recent critically acclaimed album, Sugar Island – including the radio favourite, ‘Going South’.

On TV, Brendan made an appearance this year on John Creedon’s popular Road Less Travelled summer series, giving the RTE presenter a tour of the backdrop for songs like ‘Mary’ and ‘Hometown On The Border’, another stand-out song from Sugar Island, about growing up in Newry during the Troubles.
