Snake Eyes Release Debut Single

‘Don’t Worry’ is Snake Eyes’ very first single and it exemplifies their fuzzed-up, grunged-out pop stylings, or “grit pop”, if you will. The track is out now via UK indie Failure By Design. It was the very first song that Brighton-based vocalist and guitarist Jim Heffy wrote for the band “amongst a bunch of naff ones that never made the cut,” he admits. “It was short and to the point, had energy and felt like a good way to start a record or a live set. It’s written about these lovely ladies I used to work with who would always, always fuss over me. This video shoot was actually the first time we got together as a full band to 'perform'. We didn't fully know what we were doing so had a few drinks to calm the nerves. Not sure if I should say this but the lights we used actually burnt a little hole in the wall so... soz about that to whoever owns the room!”

Heffy conceived Snake Eyes with a bunch of bedroom riffs. To bring the band to life, he brought best mate Nicole Gill, whose voice would blend in seamlessly, on board, teaching her bass in the process. Another friend, drummer Thomas Coe-Brooker, was enlisted to produce the songs and ended up becoming the final piece of the Snake Eyes audio puzzle.

Having only played one actual live show before lockdown kicked in, Snake Eyes are very keen to get out there and start playing to music lovers, live in the flesh. In the meantime, the trio hope their music can provide a certain escapism and leave you dizzy with joy. ‘Don’t Worry’ was produced by Coe-Brooker and the band and mastered in New York by Dan Coutant (Drug Church, Lemuria, War on Women).
