Chelou's New Video Is Out Of Sight

Chelou has unveiled another mind-altering video online for new single, ‘Out Of Sight’. This new video is the work of Los Angeles artist Robin Eisenberg, known for her luminescent astro-femmes and intergalactic backdrops. Along with animator Kris Baldwin, Eisenberg sends our heroine on a journey through a trippy outer space cityscape, a Star Wars cantina-like bar scene, and a heart-pounding high-speed finale.

This isn't the first time Chelou has worked with great illustrators in what has become a trademark sequence of music videos. The video for his 2016 breakthrough single ‘Halfway to Nowhere’ was done by the like-minded artist Polly Nor.

Chelou, a purveyor of loopy guitars and entrancing melodies, has been releasing buzzy singles and EPs since 2014, and is gearing up to release his debut full length in 2019. The LP is titled Out Of Sight and is due next year on his own imprint, Concrete Dog Records. For an artist who describes themselves as a lone wolf and, who has been to date, something of an enigma, it’s been a seminal twelve months for Chelou. 2018 has marked the year the singer/songwriter has stepped firmly into the spotlight.

On Out Of Sight, the London based musician mines dystopian dream folk straddling the realms of cosmic and earthly pleasures.  The album is produced by Cam Blackwood (London Grammar, Florence And The Machine, George Ezra) who, having been blown away by Chelou’s live show, urged Chelou to come along to his studio.

Written during a time of uncertainty following the untimely departure of his drummer, Chelou says the song “sums up where I was at the time. I’m trying to get going but I already see that I’m done. Despite this the song has an overall sentiment of hope at the end - despite my running and feeling of disillusion there was always hope.”
