Gerard Way Is Getting Down The Germs

Mercifully leaving behind the sounds of My Chemical Romance, this is the second release from Gerard Way in less than a month. Seems like someone is busy in the studio.

Of this new track Gerard says; “I had really been wanting a song that featured the flute prominently for quite some time. It sits in there perfectly, like it was made to pay the song a visit. The whole song reminds me of wiggling squiggling wormy germs. It’s a very calm affair that shows a peek into where I may be heading musically. I hope you enjoy it. It was fun to make.”

Check it out below. His new indie sound suits him well.

Polar States Release Lana

Liverpool-based indie-rockers Polar States have released their new single 'Lana' via New Moons, a new imprint to the Killing Moon Group. 'Lana' is the follow up to the bands recent single 'Roads' and showcases their signature dark pop-rock sound.

“Sometimes it’s the simplest things that leave the biggest memories”, says vocalist Paul Tong on the new track. “Your perception of nostalgia can tell you a lot about yourself and I seem to be pretty good at romanticising it. 'Lana' is one of those anthems which makes you reflect on the first days of a relationship with a mixture of emotions”. 'Lana' was produced by Larry Hibbitt (Sundara Karma, Nothing but Thieves, The Pretty Vicious), and further hones their festival-ready choruses and classic songwriting.

Forming in 2015, the band put a heavy emphasis on writing from the start, with early songs, such as ‘Concrete’, drawing on influences from their surroundings and northern roots. The song was penned about a homeless couple who vocalist Paul Tong met on the streets of Liverpool and went on to be played for 12 consecutive weeks by BBC Introducing Merseyside, leading to BBC Radio 1 airtime, and slots at Kendal Calling, Dot  2  Dot, Liverpool Sound City and The Great Escape.
