Sailing Stones New Single 'To Know Nothing At All'

Irish-Swedish born Jenny Lindfors (aka Sailing Stones) has returned from the release of her debut EP in February with ‘To Know Nothing At All (Telescopes)’; a reimagined and retitled take on an early outing under the moniker.
Dripping with hazy nostalgia, the new single and accompanying visuals are a beguiling insight into what’s to come from future material as the Bristol-based songwriter bridges the gap between her early creations with a newfound, synth-heavy soundscape. Currently adding the final flourishes to recordings with TJ Allen (Bat For Lashes, Portishead, Anna Calvi), 2019 will see the release of a new body of work through Sailing Stones’ own label, Keep Her Lit.
‘To Know Nothing At All (Telescopes)’ began life as a vinyl only B-side for the original ‘Telescopes’ single, but after spending more time with Dan Moore’s (Will Gregory Moog Ensemble, Modulus III) reimagined version, composed almost entirely on analogue synthesisers, it quickly became clear that it was too special to be just an afterthought. A running theme throughout Sailing Stones’ forthcoming full length release, the use of synthesisers was ‘a game changer in terms of how I wanted to record my songs. It hooked me into making more music that reminded me of the AOR bands/singer-songwriters of the late ‘80s, when I was little.’ Mirroring the brooding atmosphere of the track, the midnight blue visuals document drives back to Bristol, flooded with the night-time glow of streetlights and others making their evening journeys to and from home.
