Venom Prison, Gojira & Vodun Confirmed For Glastonbury

After Earache Records tremendous first year at Glastonbury in 2017, they return to Shangri-La this year with a killer lineup on the Scum Stage. Idles, The Damned, Black Futures, Gojira and Vodun will be joined by Wales’ Venom Prison, who will perform twice at the festival.

Regarding the announcement, Venom Prison commented, “We are incredibly honoured to announce our debut performance at Glastonbury Festival 2019. For a band to play at a festival that wouldn’t normally have music or people like us in attendance for that matter to be this welcoming is amazing to see. We’d like to pay special thanks to the team at Earache for firstly having the audacity of swindling a stage out of Glastonbury in the first place but also inviting us to play, you all rule. The grind is real. See you in the fields.”

The announcement follows a full-on start to 2019 which saw the release of Venom Prison's critically acclaimed second album, Samsara. The band will also head out on tour this month supporting Fit For An Autopsy.

Here’s a BBC bit about last time out

Silent Forum Seek Safety in Numbers

Silent Forum are an art rock band from Cardiff. Their latest single ‘Safety In Numbers’ is released through all platforms on May 10 via Libertino Records. An intimate guitar riff meets intricate vocal sequencing. ‘Safety In Numbers’ is a warm, touching song expressing the importance of looking after your friends. It captures a calm clarity accepting that as individuals, time will forget us, but that our relationships are the most meaningful impact we can achieve.

The single is featured alongside the curiously titled, anthemic jangle pop b-side ‘I Used to Hate Angry Young Men But Now I’m One Of Them’.

Silent Forum set out to eschew many of the tired tropes of modern indie bands whilst retaining a righteous sense of fun and drawing upon a number of influences new and old to craft a sound confidently their own. Signed to Carmarthen’s Libertino Records, the band have an album in the works and a tour will follow. Upcoming gigs include a main support set for post-punk/soul legends Algiers at Clwb Ifor Bach in July.
