Clean Cut Kid Tour Starts Tonight
- Written by Marky Edison
Fresh off the back of their comeback EP, Painkiller, featuring lead single ‘Emily’, Clean Cut Kid have unveiled another new track in the form of single ‘Deafening.’ Showcasing a more harder-edged rock sound to the Painkiller EP that took its cue from ‘70s west coast American music, ‘Deafening’ sees a stomping drum beat and fuzzy guitar riff combine to soaring effect, a further move away from the indie-pop of debut album Felt released last year.
Speaking of the song, Mike says: “‘Deafening’ was written at a point in the band’s lives where the damaging effects of interfering voices were weighing heavy on our creativity. It’s about the ever present battle between artist and industry, and the frustration of being caught-up in record label politics.”
Clean Cut Kid will embark on an intimate tour of the UK in November, including sold out shows at London’s Omeara, Liverpool’s Arts Club and The Wardrobe in Leeds. The tour will call at the following:
