New year, new Too Pure Singles Club - twelve 7"s in a number of colours hitting the hall doormat throughout the year. With the advent of mp3s you don't even need to play them as you're emailed virtual copies too; keep them pristine for your heirs! Sell them for vast profits and buy a small island! The choice is yours ...
What better way to commemorate 100 years since the BBFC was granted the authority to censor films in the UK than with Welsh duo Beard Of Wolves' 'Wet Mouth' (b/w 'Dead Heart'), in it's cover which leaves little to the imagination when it comes to the anatomy of naked wolf-headed women?
Formed under six months ago the pair share similar sonic territory to that of DZ Deathrays and this white vinyl offering is a succinct blast of frustration-dispersing, pile-driving rock. The A-side is a sleazy, two minute love riot as you'd guess from the title whilst on the flip they manage to do that thing whereby they make more noise than it seems possible for two blokes to achieve, whilst progressing their sound to a more considered and yet still visceral level.
They've a more readily available ep due out in March so keep your eyes peeled.
