Belle & Sebastian Announced for Liverpool Sound City 2015

  • Written by

With the launch of its 8th festival, Liverpool Sound City has announced a new location along with its first headliner for 2015.

The three day festival will be moving from Liverpool’s city centre to the historic Bramley Moore Dock.

Sound City CEO Dave Pichilingi said: “Our goal year-on-year is to evolve, grow, challenge, inspire, surprise and delight. We have never been one to rest on our laurels.

“Ultimately, we have outgrown our old home. It will be sad to part with the people and venues we have worked with over the past years but we don’t want a situation where people have to queue to watch acts or, worse still, not get to see them at all. We chose the new site to ensure everyone who comes gets the chance to see and engage with everything.”

Glasgow's own Belle & Sebastian have also been announced as headliners, playing on the historic Liverpool waterfront backed by a full orchestra on Sunday May 24 2015. This will conclude the bands 2015 tour which backs their latest album, Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance.

Stuart Murdoch, of Belle and Sebastian, said: “We’re looking forward to headlining Liver- pool Sound City on May 24. This is the last date of our tour and we can’t wait to play at the Liverpool Docklands, it’s such an iconic location.”

Sound City will take place over the weekend of May 21 - 24 2015. Early bird tickets cost £55, with delegate access available at £120.
