Bokito Release Debut Single, ‘Better At Getting Worse’

Bokito release debut single, ‘Better At Getting Worse’, via Lost in the Manor Records. Fans of Everything Everything and Vampire Weekend will appreciate their alt-pop sounds. ‘Better At Getting Worse’ is something of a cautionary insight to the male psyche. Frontman Moses explains: “The song is primarily aimed at men and their own handling of their emotions... and how useless most of them are at it. But we men are talented at one thing, which is suppressing everything and moulding it into a smile.”

Produced by Bradley Spencer and Alex Beitzke in London’s Fish Tank studios, and mastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Greg Calbi, ‘Better At Getting Worse’ is a compelling first salvo from a band who have a rich seam of ready singles in waiting.

Peddling an uproarious blend of rock, soca, funk and roots, London-based five-piece Bokito have coined a phrase for their unique genre mashup: tropical indie. Bokito take inspiration from such diverse sources as J Dilla, Jeff Buckley, Fela Kuti, Justin Timberlake and Queens of the Stone Age to bring a little of the rousing celtic spirit of Moses’ Irish homeland to London’s global soundscape.

20syl + Mr. J. Medeiros Join Forces For AllttA

Four time French Grammy winner 20syl's new collaborative project with hip hop artist Mr. J. Medeiros, AllttA (A Little Lower Than The Angels), will be releasing their debut full length album, The Upper Hands on February 17th via On and On Records. The formula for AllttA is simple; an innovative mix of organic and electronic music by French producer 20syl, laced with the intricate and poetic rhymestylings of Los Angeles based rapper, Mr. J. Medeiros.

The album's lead single ‘Drugs’,is available now. The song is a reflection of the unparalleled chemistry that’s formed when the two creative minds join forces. It fosters Mr. J. Medeiros' talent as a vocalist and hip hop lyricist while 20syl sets the foundation with his clean cut, classic sound that defines his music. The track is paired with a simple, yet powerful visual/lyric video that in unison highlight the true message of the song; drugs "ain't a cure at all."

French producer 20syl can be noted for his involvement with French hip hop group Hocus Pocus. In addition, he is one of four DJs in the internationally recognized turntablist group C2C, who have won 4 DMC world championships, 4 French Grammys, and saw double platinum sales with their album Tetr4. Under the name 20syl, he’s garnered over 10 million streams through remixes of artists like Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, and Schoolboy Q.

The second half of AllttA, Mr. J. Medeiros, is part of hip hop group The Procussions, and was the singer for hip hop punk group KNIVES. After spending the past two summers together and between their individual projects, they are excited to announce their forthcoming The Upper Hands album out on Friday.
