Coro Fire Announce New Single 'AMD Cramp' And Upcoming EP

Coro Fire are releasing their latest single ‘AMD Cramp’ ahead of the release of their first EP Once A Chore. Coro Fire is a two-piece indie/pop/grunge/rock band from Perth, Australia. The band consists of long-time friends Nick Cook on guitar/lead vocals and Adam Scott on drums. Once A Chore, consists of four tracks drawing influences from a large variety of musical genres and bands. The EP was recorded over 3 months by Nick at his home studio in Perth, and mixed/mastered by Shane White, a close friend of his and an experienced audio engineer.

The duo began jamming together in 2015 after becoming inspired seeing a band at a live music event in Brisbane. Their first songs were written on a couple of acoustic guitars before Adam transitioned to drums and purchased a kit. In early 2016, the two settled on their band name, and Nick began writing and recording demos under Coro Fire.

Since releasing their first track ‘West End’ to the internet in September, the duo has been working hard on their debut EP, which is due to be released in March, 2017. Nick and Adam rarely break from writing and recording new material. They each have their own unique approach to song writing, which when combined proves to be very effective chemistry. Coro Fire’s first gig is lined up for Friday the 24th of February at Babushka, in Leederville, Perth.

Phobophobes’ New Single And UK Tour

Phobophobes rise into 2017 nestled atop a wave of attention focused towards the revitalized South London scene with new single ‘The Never Never’, due for release March 24th via Ra-Ra Rok Records. “‘The Never Never’ is a critique of today’s excessive consumerism. The repetitive and slogan-esque nature of the track evokes the reductive nature of advertising.” explains frontman Jamie Taylor.

In the wake of a tumultuous 2016, Phobophobes continue to forge their own path, taking whatever’s thrown at them and squeezing every ounce of inspiration from it. It’s the only way they know. Frontman Jamie Taylor has built studio space wherever he’s roamed, from Paris to Peckham to Primrose Hill. Even Pittsburgh, Iowa, Palm Beach and New York whilst working on a touring art exhibition across America, setting up a studio in each hotel room to work on new tracks.

Even when invited to Abbey Road Studios to record with Ken Scott, their bass player at the time, Elliot, took swabs of their oldest microphone and grew bacteria in petri dishes, the results of which are immortalised in Phobophobes’ artwork and in the centre of their 7”s.

Following a single launch show at London’s Moth Club, Phobophobes will tour the UK with Life through April on the dates below. The band are currently readying their debut full-length album and will release ‘The Never Never’ on 7” vinyl.
