Ghost Bath Announce London Headline Show

Depressive black metal merchants Ghost Bath, have announced their first ever UK headline show, an intimate gig at London's Sebright Arms on Tuesday May 16. The band recently announced details of their new album Starmourner to be released on April 21st via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Starmourner was recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by Josh Schroeder and features impressive cover artwork by Luciana Nedelea.

The album features an intense concept, building on last year's acclaimed Moonlover release, Starmourner is set on a higher level. It explores joy (instead of sorrow), the cosmos (instead of earth), and paradise (instead of purgatory.) But most importantly, it explores ecstasy, instead of tragedy, as its basic human emotion. With over 72 minutes of heavy, melodic, and dramatic black metal, it is Ghost Bath's most ambitious undertaking yet.

The album takes its listener on a journey in a variety of ways; each track is accompanied by a beautifully crafted painting as well as a "parable" to read alongside. This allows the listener to explore not only the audio soundscapes, but a visual and imaginative experience through as they delve into the album. "The stories, or parables, look into Jewish angelology and the hierarchy of angels as found in the bible and other religious texts," says vocalist/ mastermind Nameless. "Although the album has a definitive joyful and hopeful feel, it is still drenched in depression and sorrow, as any true Ghost Bath record should be."

Betsy Announces UK Tour

Betsy has confirmed a series of intimate dates around the UK this May, in support of new single 'Waiting' (out now via Warner Brothers / Columbia Records). Following a breathtaking appearance on BBC Introducing's Maida Vale, the 5-date UK run will include London's Moth Club on May 15th.  Affecting and uplifting, latest single 'Waiting', writes Betsy, "is about that fire and excitement you feel when you meet someone new, fall hook, line and sinker, and it feels like you've been waiting your whole life for them.”

Betsy is now putting the finishing touches to her debut album, which will dig deeper into her unlikely musical background. She was born on a goose farm in rural Wales, finding her voice from campfire sing-alongs and the local eisteddfod (where she boldly covered Rage Against The Machine) to the powerhouse vocalists within her parents’ vintage record collection.

Keen to pursue a career in music she was encouraged by her hard-working family to find a fall-back, and moved to London to study fashion design at Central St Martins. One distraction led to another when Betsy was invited to design catwalk for the esteemed Balenciaga in Paris: an intense, exhilarating experience filled with fascinating characters, but one that ultimately ate into her songwriting.

And so Betsy returned to Wales, swapping what many of her peers deemed the job of a lifetime for a grotty caravan in her brother’s garden (which you can glimpse across much of her artwork). Soon, there was no stopping her – Betsy furiously set about making music again, teaching herself the art of GarageBand and essentially challenging herself to write her way out of the caravan.

People got an early glimpse via a collaboration with Joe Goddard of Hot Chip, who reworked Betsy’s early solo demo of ‘Endless Love’ into the pair’s acclaimed single. The caravan’s door was then firmly kicked down in 2016, with acclaimed early singles 'Fair', 'Lost & Found' and 'Wanted More'. Blowing up vulnerable, intimate moments into widescreen and empowering pop, 'Waiting' confirms Betsy as one of the year's stand-out new voices.
