Roosevelt Video For 'Moving On' And Tour Dates

Roosevelt’s eponymous debut album received a glowing review on this site when it was released last year, and rightly so. The man also known as Marius Lauber combines immediately accessible songs with clever lyrics and diverse instrumentation. He wrote, recorded and produced the record himself over a period of two years. Five of the twelve tracks have been previously released as singles. It doesn’t take long for the album to suck you in and immerse you.

Fast forward six months, and with that debut still fizzing beneath the surface, Lauber has no intention of resting on his laurels. ‘Moving On’ is a smooth, groove-ridden slice of Balearic new wave about recovering from what that partner took with them along with their departure. Since release the track has become a live favourite, which is why it's now being released as a stand-alone single. Video director Hector Prats reflects on its accompanying visual, "It's about how we deal with something that we believed was true, but from one day to the other, looks like never happened.”

Roosevelt is on tour with Glass Animals in the UK this week, before setting off on his own European tour in late March and through April.

Naoise Roo Covers Roy Orbison's ‘Crying’ Live For International Women's Day

Dublin's Naoise Roo continues her effervescent streak with a live a cappella version of Roy Orbison's sombre yet much loved hit ‘Crying’. The track was recorded live last weekend at a fundraising and awareness event hosted by Dublin Digital Radio to raise funds for Strike 4 Repeal.  Roo's stunning vocals take this classic track to a new level of gripping intensity.

Released on March 8, 2017, in honour of International Women's Day, Naoise's spellbinding cover is mesmerizing in its stark retelling, injecting a fierceness and strength that recalls the intensity of PJ Harvey and Siouxsie Sioux.

"Crying has been covered by so many artists, all touched by its stark sense of loneliness and heartbreak. Its a song that means a lot to me and considering the various negative circumstances for women in Ireland right now, I just felt compelled to sing it.It's an emotional outlet, which speaks for itself".

On her album Lilith, produced by Elder Roche (Myles Manley) and Liam Mulvaney (Girl Band) and released on Little L Records, Naoise delivers a highly accomplished and enthralling insight into the emotional and musical range of the emerging songwriter.  She deals with themes of heartbreak, desire, and female identity and stylistically ranges from powerfully emotional indie rock to delicate ambient electronic, visceral hard grunge to wryly flirtatious melodies - while still remaining strikingly unique.
