The Grey Merchant Give Us Convenience

Cork’s The Grey Merchant give us another whopper of a single with 'Convenience'. Sounding like The Butthole Surfers covering Motorhead, Neon Atlas’ bassist Enda O’Flaherty and a collection of friends and fellow musicians release deliver a third single release which goes on sale May 31 on Spotify, iTunes, and the usual digital platforms.

The Grey Merchant have drawn comparisons with classic noise and stoner rock, influences like Kyuss and Fu Manchu can be heard. ‘Convenience’ is the follow up to their earlier single releases ‘Spotless (The Protecting Veil)’ and ‘The Last Transmission’, and sets the tone for their forth-coming album Avenue De Rennes expected in late July this year. The latter track is a quality tune; an old-fashioned rocker dressed in new clothes and taken to new places, something it shares with this new song.

The Indigo Project Taste It

Fast-rising indie-rockers The Indigo Project will release their new single ‘Taste It’ on Friday 12th May via AWAL. The anthemic slice of punkish guitar pop from Leeds’ favourite new band is tailor made for both indie-disco and festival singalongs and is set to propel them onto the national stage.

Since forming two years ago, the young five-piece have played Leeds & Reading Festival, supported The DMAs, Ocean Colour Scene and The Sherlocks and built a fervent local fanbase with a string of sold out, exuberant headline shows. A blistering tale of teenage love, lust and love, ‘Taste It’ will follow a second consecutive appearance at Live at Leeds Festival and coincides with UK tour dates.

“Taste It is a song about wanting someone desperately, despite the fact that you know it’s a bad idea,” says frontman Joe Spink of the new song. “That person could be almost within arm’s length, but also just out of reach - so close you can almost taste it.”

The Indigo Project will play the following shows this Spring –

6th May - The Lincoln Imperial, Scunthorpe

9th May - Paper Dress Vintage, London

14th May - The Fullford Arms, York

3rd June - Henry’s Bar, Edinburgh

4th June - Nice ’N Sleazy, Glasgow
