Idles To Support Foo Fighters

The momentum continues for Bristol punks Idles, who follow raucous shows at Reading & Leeds and filling in for Steve Lamacq on his Radio 6 Recommends show with the announcement of their biggest headliner yet at London's Village Underground on November 23. They will be supported by Life and Kite Base (ft. Ayse Hassan of Savages). Tickets go on sale from Thursday 31st August from 9am here [http://www.gigsandtours.com/tour/idles/]. They've also announced their biggest support slot too - Foo Fighters at the O2 Arena on 19th September.

This year's Brutalism LP received considerable attention on its release and this alongside their incendiary live shows have garnered then a growing fan base ever since. Jeremy Vine is among their admirers, they’re in Radio 6’s albums of the year, they were 33-1 for the Mercury Prize at Ladbrokes ahead of announcement and they had the biggest crowd of the whole weekend on The Lake Stage at Latitude where they also performed a secret set for the BBC, also rammed, directly after at the Introducing stage.

As well as their own headlining tour, the band have performed dates with Dead Kennedys, DIIV and were The Maccabees special guests at all three of their final shows at Alexandra Palace. They’ve not been hurt by a succession of brilliant music videos either. Take a watch of their recent video for ‘Mother’, where front man Joe Talbot proceeds to destroy a table full of china, piece by piece.

The Rasmus Release Chilling New Single ‘Silver Night’

Legendary Finnish alt-rockers, The Rasmus, once again strike that chord of familiar Nordic melancholia with ‘Silver Night’. The chilling new single is the latest taster of the long-awaited album, Dark Matters, which was produced by Swedish team, The Family (Iggy Azalea, Fifth Harmony).

2017 is the year that The Rasmus have set themselves for a big international comeback. The single ‘Paradise’, out March 31st 2017, showed that the band are not resting on their laurels nor former accomplishments. The second single, ‘Silver Night’, released August 25, is the lead track taken from the long-awaited album, Dark Matters.

“The thinking behind our new songs was to create the kind of music we would like to listen to. We haven’t abandoned our signature northern melancholy but you can hear a wide range of influences in our new compositions. The new album is like a rollercoaster with many different emotions and personal feelings. Our music is at times dark, speculative, melodic and sometimes even sad”, singer Lauri Ylönen explains.

The new album Dark Matters is set for release on October 6, via Playground Music Scandinavia. The band also announced a Pledge Music Campaign, allowing access to an exclusive fan-only area, featuring album pre-order deals, updates from the band, behind-the-scenes footage and a variety of bonus content.
