We Came As Romans Announce New Album

Michigan post-hardcore outfit We Came As Romans will release its much-anticipated fifth album Cold Like War on October 20 through SharpTone Records. In their expansive tenure as a band, they've released four full-length releases, charted #8, #11 and #21 respectively on the Billboard Top 200, performed in five continents and 40 different countries and that doesn't even begin to touch on what they have in the works for 2017.

2017 is the start of a new era for We Came as Romans. In a word, the album represents adversity—in all of its various forms. It's a thrilling, energetic and immensely catchy compendium of songs that run the full gambit of emotion—aggression to sorrow, love to hate—to capture the fullest extent of the conflict and turmoil We Came as Romans endured to make it to this point in their careers and their lives.

"Cold Like War is about struggle, those trials," says guitarist and songwriter Joshua Moore. "They can turn us towards each other, towards those we love, towards those who have supported us. Because the last two years to us have felt like this giant war—an internal war—to figure out the right path for our band… to figure out how to stay together and be happy again."

Gun Announce Free Show At St. Luke's Tonight

Scottish rock legends Gun have announced a FREE show at St. Lukes, Glasgow tonight, September 14. The band will play an hour-long set, showcasing tracks from their new album Favourite Pleasures, with a few fan-favourites thrown in for good measure. This is a great opportunity for local fans to get a signed copy of the new album and to meet the band. The band will also be performing an acoustic set, in-store at HMV (Argyle Street) in Glasgow tomorrow at 1730.

Gun have recently released ‘Silent Lovers’, the second single taken from their forthcoming album. One of the first songs written for the new album, ‘Silent Lovers’ is Gun’s homage to David Bowie. Written shortly after his passing, as most of us did, the band delved back into his extensive back catalogue – reigniting their love for his music. Frontman Dante Gizzi explains “The one thing we noticed most of all when re-listening to his songs was his ability to completely alter the style of writing while maintaining that Bowiesque feel. A unique and difficult thing to pull off. Something we've always wanted to achieve with Gun.”

Favourite Pleasures, Gun’s seventh studio album, stands proudly alongside the very best of their work. Informed by a back-to-basics approach tempered by an innate sense for melody, the record was made in the band's own Morse Code studios in Paisley. It's an album that dances on a knife-edge, one that can turn on a single note from the raw pain of emotions hitting the rocks, to an unbridled celebration of hedonism.
