Barry Adamson has unveiled the forthcoming EP of remixes, Love Sick Dick Remixed - out on vinyl and download on November 24. As well as Gazelle Twin, Love Sick Dick Remixed features remixes and reworkings from A Certain Ratio, Ben de Vries (Lunacre), ADULT., Jimi Tenor and Wheel. A Certain Ratio’s reworking saw them take the track into the studio a record it live, explaining: “We approached it as if we were writing an ACR track from scratch and built on a groove playing everything live then chopped Barry’s vocal for the verses and the female scatting vocals for the choruses.”

Barry Adamson has been creating all of his life. Perhaps his greatest creation is himself as a multi-disciplined artist. The self-taught musician rose to prominence as the bass player in Magazine and toured extensively. His establishment as a solo artist came after a three year stint with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and heralded the release of his seminal first solo album, Moss Side Story. Critically acclaimed, it raised Adamson’s name as a composer of diverse complexity; able to tell a story with music, where the images were those supplanted in the minds of the listeners. Offers quickly followed and saw Adamson work with some of the film industry’s most intriguing mavericks including Derek Jarman, David Lynch, Oliver Stone and Danny Boyle.

Having released nine studio albums, including the 1992 Mercury Music Prize nominated Soul Murder, Adamson has continued to tour globally with his talents being in as much demand by new generations of artists, as he was after his first solo release. He is constantly sought across all art forms for commentary and contribution. His music being both the platform and background for documentaries, TV series, adverts, computer games and even an Olivier Award winning ballet performance by Sylvie Guillem and the Ballet Boyz. The Fratellis have returned. After four albums and hundreds of sell-out shows across the world, the irrepressible Scottish trio are thrilled to announce their fifth studio album In Your Own Sweet Time, released by Cooking Vinyl on March 9. Maturing from the roguish young scallywags of Costello Music, into a chameleonic powerhouse with a sound that is bigger, bolder, and still shot through with a whip-smart, pitch-black sense of humour. To coincide with the release of In Your Own Sweet Time, The Fratellis will embark on an eight date tour of the UK ending on their home turf in Glasgow.

Time The Fratellis are offering a taste of what’s to come with first track ‘The Next Time We Wed’ – a hyperactive slice of mischief matching the Fratellis’ characteristic impish theatricality and wit with ricocheting Prince-like guitar riffs. Jon Fratelli says of ‘The Next Time We Wed’: “It started life, like a lot of the songs on In Your Own Sweet Time, as a completely different song. It morphed from a country song in D Minor to a disco song in A Major; an unusually bright and warm day in Glasgow may be to blame for this.”

With In Your Own Sweet Time, The Fratellis are teaming up once again with six-time Grammy and Mercury nominated American producer Tony Hoffer (Beck, The Kooks, M83, Belle & Sebastian). The record boasts all the muscular energy of American pop music of the 1970s with the testosterone-fuelled virtuosity of the best British rock.
