David Byrne Announces Tour

David Byrne has announced an extensive world tour in support of his forthcoming solo record, American Utopia.  Byrne will perform songs from the new album, which is out March 9 via Todomundo/Nonesuch Records, as well as classics from his solo career and his days with Talking Heads.  A twelve-piece band will also join Byrne on stage for a choreographed concert that he has called “the most ambitious show I’ve done since the shows that were filmed for Stop Making Sense.”

Additionally, Byrne will bring his Reasons To Be Cheerful – an ongoing series of free talks he curates of hopeful writings, photos, music, and lectures – to London’s Roundhouse Sackler Space (Jan 30).

On January 8, Byrne announced the release of American Utopia during a presentation of Reasons To Be Cheerful given at New York’s New School to a live audience and also was streamed via his Facebook page.   He also released the first track from the album, ‘Everybody’s Coming To My House’ – co-written with Brian Eno, featuring contributions from TTY, Happa, Isaiah Barr leader of the Onyx Collective, Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never), Mercury Prize winner Sampha, and others.

485c Release New Single 'Kapow!'

'Kapow!' is 485c's fourth single, following on from 'She'll Lie,' 'Strange Medicine' and 'Better The Man'. Having spent much of 2017 holed up in the studio, and touring, including The Great Escape, a support slot with The Sherlocks and This Feeling at Nambucca, ‘Kapow!’ is another addictive slice of indie-pop bedlam. Beyond their ragged demeanour, there lurks the heart of a profound alt.pop poet.

Following ‘Kapow!,’ the band will release their debut album on March 9, via Fierce Panda. Having played Camden Assembly this week, 485c will be heading back out on the road for more shows, including Nambucca in London on February 3.

Steve Lamacq at 6Music named ‘Strange Medicine’ as one of his Tracks of 2017 and Spotify included ‘Strange Medicine’ in their ‘Best of the Indie List 2017’ playlist. 2018 looks set to be another stellar year for the East London five piece.
