Cloud Working With Two Hands Bound

Long Island’s Cloud (aka Tyler Taormina and friends) debuted for Audio Antihero with the lauded Comfort Songs LP. Taormina returns in 2018 with his new album Plays With Fire; nine songs and 32 minutes of quiet optimism and greying nostalgia, mixing the wide-eyed naïveté of Jonathan Richman with the cold-weather pop of Yo La Tengo and the fractured soundscapes of Galaxie 500.

‘Two Hands Bound’ is the album’s second single, full of guitars, percussion and harmonies, a giddy and layered cacophony about good and bad days. This beguiling and uplifting pop song is one of the loosest moments on the upcoming album but it’s not without its darkness. The single is accompanied by an exclusive non-album b-side.

Though operating on a DIY level, Cloud’s music has found praise and support from Pitchfork, Stereogum, GoldFlakePaint, Drowned in Sound, CLASH, Indie Shuffle,TLOBF, IMPOSE, The Alternative, Post-Trash, Nialler9, The Grey Estates, KCRW, DIY Mag, The Burning Ear and BBC 6 Music. ‘Two Hands Bound’ was preceded by the free single,‘Wildfire’, with a video directed by Taormina.

The Wood Burning Savages Announce Debut Album

The Wood Burning Savages are a fast-paced punk rock band from Derry City, Northern Ireland. Proudly wearing the rebel spirit of their hometown on their sleeves, with pulsating riffs and a sharp political edge, they are often compared to Manic Street Preachers, Future of The Left and Queens of the Stone Age.

Last month they released their single ‘Purple Heart’, a song that tackles the difficult subject of PTSD. The track is taken from their forthcoming album Stability, released on April 27th. Produced by Rocky O'Reilly (Touts, Cassels, exMagician) in Start Together Studios, Belfast, and mastered by Robin Schmidt (Wolf Alice, The 1975, Jake Bugg), the album is described by frontman and singer Paul Connolly as “a collection of songs about a working class furious at years of empty promises”.

The band has been lauded for their frenetic live shows, each night serving up a full-blooded cocktail of breakneck guitars and frenzied anthems. With each track The Wood Burning Savages share gritty real life tales of disillusion and indignation, giving a voice to a generation more marginalised and divided than ever before.

Their music has even been embraced by the world of wrestling with Philadelphia grappler 'The Product' David Starr selecting 'We Love You' as his entrance theme. Having played the BBC Introducing tent at Glastonbury, the band went on to play riotous sets at festivals throughout Ireland and beyond, performing in Scotland, Poland and Germany. They were selected by Dublin’s Whelan's to play their yearly One's To Watch 2018 festival, and have been hand-picked by Death From Above to support them in Dublin on March 14.
