New Video from Telephone Explosions

Kildare dream-pop duo Telephone Explosions are back with a haunting new track, ‘Tine Cnámh’ (Bonfire in Irish), whose creeping bassline and ethereal vocals come just in time for the Halloween season. The track also features Kildare musician Helen Holligan on bass and was mixed by Adam J. Wilson.

Telephone Explosions are ambient dream-pop duo Dolores Fogarty and Adrian Mee, formed in Maynooth in 2016 who released their first single ‘Pocket’ in January of last year, and their follow-up ‘Significant’ in July 2017.

The band played at the Electric Picnic and Sligo Live festivals in autumn 2017. Inspired by number stations, hidden transmissions and unbroken codes, Telephone Explosions plan to release their debut album in early 2019.

Thumper Get Down

They were very impressive as they closed this year’s Vantastival so it’s great to hear some new material from Dublin’s Thumper. The noise-pop quintet return with new single ‘Down’, produced by Dan Fox of Girl Band.

The lo-fi production draws the listener in with each hook and beat, and at the core is great songwriting - infectious bubblegum pop by way of ragged ‘90s-soaked noise-rock. Whether the seven minute long version, or the snippier radio edit, it's a winner every single second and blasts the listener into a world where riffs and pop hooks exist together manically but happily.

2018 has seen Thumper top several Ones To Watch lists in Ireland and tour relentlessly headlining Hard Working Class Heroes, joining Fangclub on tour, and playing festivals all summer long such as Sea Sessions, Body & Soul, and Electric Picnic. With a reputation for raucous and frenzied live shows, and a penchant for howling feedback and pounding rhythm, each Thumper performance is an exercise in unpredictability. The band’s records masterfully capture the full-force energy of their live shows, and the result harnesses the best elements of rock, grunge and pop.
