The Intersphere Share The Grand Delusion

German alternative rock band The Intersphere share their new single and title track of the latest album, 'The Grand Delusion' along with a live video. The video was shot during the band’s latest album release tour between December and January and gives a good impression of what to expect from The Interspheres upcoming dates with Coheed And Cambria as well as the summer festival season.

The background for the album The Grand Delusion is the highly subjective question that is not only posed by Paul Watzlawick in his eponymous book, but that has now reached a completely new dimension in the madness of media coverage: How real is reality? The songs are not only concerned with thinking and acting in sociological and societal contexts, in systems, orders and interpretations of reality created by humans, but also with reflecting on oneself, introspection and the question “What foundation is my own reality based on?”  Almost five years after the last release, and after personal crises and changes, The Grand Delusion is lyrically the most personal album to date from The Intersphere, but also one of the most varied, loudest and angriest.

“The production aimed at recording the four main instruments live and as close up, big and detailed as possible, and thus duplication was largely avoided. We also experimented with new open tunings and countless distortion and fuzz pedals that make the sound more distorted and dirty. But there are also a couple of opulently arranged songs that enrich the sounds of The Intersphere with new colours and facets that people have never heard from us before.”

Like its predecessor, Relations In The Unseen, the album was produced by Christoph Hessler and The Intersphere, recorded live at Toolhouse Studios in Rotenburg, mixed and co-produced by Moritz Enders and mastered by Robin Schmidt. The artwork was once again created by the band's longtime associate Pierre Schmidt Dromsjel.

Hot Chip Draw A Bath Full Of Ecstasy

Hot Chip will release their seventh album, A Bath Full of Ecstasy, on June 21. Their third album for Domino, A Bath Full of Ecstasy is the group’s definitive release, crystallising the sound they’ve become celebrated for – bridging euphoria and melancholy with colourful melodies, idiosyncratic vocalisations and pounding electronic pop rhythms.

Recorded in Paris and London, the album sees the group (Owen Clarke, Al Doyle Joe Goddard, Felix Martin and Alexis Taylor) open up to a more adventurous and collaborative song-writing process, choosing to work with outside producers for the first time: Philippe Zdar, the French maestro who’s shaped the magic of Cassius and Phoenix, and Rodaidh McDonald, the Scot who’s collaborated with The XX, David Byrne and Sampha.

On the first song from the record, ‘Hungry Child’, Hot Chip fuse the uplifting soft pads and melodic keys of classic soulful house and the percussive swing of UK garage, full of sweet vocalisations and rhythmic snaps, to make an instant, club-ready hit. The video for ‘Hungry Child’ is directed by Saman Kesh and features Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub. The album artwork has been created by Turner-prize winning artist Jeremy Deller and Fraser Muggeridge Studio.

Having headlined BBC’s 6Music Festival last weekend, Hot Chip have been debuting new songs at intimate shows in the UK this week; their dates continue in Europe and North America later this month before the quintet reassert themselves as the ultimate festival band this summer, taking in Glastonbury, All Points East, NOS Alive, Pukkelpop and many more. Additionally, in autumn, Hot Chip will embark on their biggest ever headline tours in the UK, Europe and North America.
