Jade Imagine Have A Big Old House

Emerging Melbourne three-piece, Jade Imagine, offer a seamless blend of synthwave and art-rock. After signing to Courtney Barnett's Milk! Records for their debut EP in 2017 and supporting Julia Jacklin on tour last year, the band have recently signed to London-based record label Marathon Artists and are back with new single, ‘Big Old House’, which will come out on both Marathon Artists & Milk! Records.

Speaking about the meaning behind ‘Big Old House’, Jade Imagine front-person Jade McInally said “This song came to me in a dream. I woke up and sang the melody into my phone. It’s about holding the mirror up to yourself. There is light in the dark. Letting yourself feel okay again. Rebirth. Getting back to basics. Musically, we channelled the inner Kraut to make the rock.”

McInally went on to say "The film clip is an extension of the themes within song; it's about telling yourself in your darker moments to let the good things in, even if all you feel is negativity. James Thomson and the band directed it together, shooting  between the Coburg pool, velodrome, and a warehouse in Fairfield in New South Wales that we usually rehearse at. I was particularly inspired by the lighting in Dario Argento's, Suspiria and the brainwashing content [of] Kubrick's Clockwork Orange.”
