Angus and Julia Stone Share 'Chateau'

Multi-platinum selling duo Angus & Julia Stone share the exquisite video for new single ‘Chateau’. The video stars leading Australian actors Courtney Eaton (Mad Max Fury Road) and Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers, Stranger Things Season 2).  Set in the magical surrounds of Mexico City, the video finds its two young protagonists embarking on a surreal and colourful adventure – stealing Angus & Julia’s car, crashing a decadent wedding and leading the guests to an underground disco. The young pair fall madly in love in the process, against the stunning backdrop and hypnotic vibes of ‘Chateau’.

‘Chateau’ is the follow up to previous single ‘Snow’, the title track from the band’s forthcoming new album. The new album, released on September 15, features twelve glorious tracks penned by Angus & Julia together. It’s the next chapter in an immensely successful career, accounting for over half a million album sales in Australia alone. The Sydney-born siblings produced and largely engineered ‘Snow’ themselves in Angus’ cottage studio, Belafonté, in the Byron Bay hinterland.

"It was quite magical because Angus and I have never spent that much time together, just the two of us," says Julia. "There's always at least an engineer or tour manager but the last phase of writing and recording was just eight weeks of him and me and the quiet of the land. It was a beautiful time. We have very different styles of writing but they seem to work together. In a way, it’s the differences that make it sound the way it does.”

Since the duo began performing together in 2006, their three albums have amassed multi-platinum sales, whilst recent single ‘Snow’ hit #1 most played on Australia’s triple j, having accrued half a million video streams and more than three and a half million audio streams.

Angus & Julia Stone recently announced a run of European & UK dates in support of their forthcoming new album. The new live plot, which makes up the band’s biggest tour to date, sees support from hypnotic singer songwriter, Isaac Gracie, who has recently released ‘The Death of You & I’, a track lifted from Isaac’s forthcoming EP of the same title. The tour also includes a date at London’s Brixton Academy on November 7.

Pixx Adds Autumn UK Live Dates

Pixx, the artistic pseudonym of Hannah Rodgers, has added more UK tour dates to her autumn calendar, including her first headline shows in Brighton, Nottingham, Manchester and Bristol. Accompanied by band members Luke Rodgers (guitar), Amy Gillespie (keyboards, bass) and Jamie Staples (drums), Rodgers will also open for her friends HMLTD in October.

Pixx’s debut album, The Age Of Anxiety, was released in June to wide acclaim. A collection of twelve songs featuring ‘I Bow Down’, ‘Grip’, ‘Baboo’ and latest single ‘Waterslides’, The Age Of Anxiety addresses a generation increasingly isolated by an unprecedented new world order, from the pressures of social media to an ever-changing political turbulence. The Age Of Anxiety borrows its title from W.H. Auden’s final poem, charting one man’s quest to find substance and identity in a shifting and increasingly industrialised world. Published in 1947, Auden’s six-part rumination on human isolation in the modern age parallels the overarching themes of Pixx’s work some 70 years later.

Originally from Chipstead, Surrey, and a graduate of the BRIT School, 22-year-old Rodgers experienced a year-long period of insomnia caused by recurring nightmares at age nine – her first awareness of anxiety. It left a lasting impression, inspiring a fascination with different states of consciousness, and is one of many somnolent events she draws upon for The Age Of Anxiety.
