Neon Atlas Come From The Shadows

Ahead of their highly anticipated third album scheduled for release in September this year, Cork based indie specialists, Neon Atlas, are on form once more as they return with a new single 'Shadows'.

'Shadows' takes off with a riff that simply demands you stop whatever you’re doing. The arrangements are wonderfully poised, sometimes destructive and created with punch and fuzziness. A verse of melancholic guitar prettiness and a beautifully created chorus. A bridge of slovenly power-pop ecstasy pounding ferociously to a sing along outro.

Neon Atlas will be performing at Vantastival in June and will also be touring nationwide this summer.

Fantastic Negrito Releases The Duffler

Grammy award-winning artist Fantastic Negrito has announced his new track, ‘The Duffler’, the second to be taken from his upcoming album Please Don’t Be Dead, out June 15 via Cooking Vinyl and Blackball Universe. ‘’The Duffler’ is a very familiar story…a story about someone having something and not appreciating it until it’s gone, when it’s too late. Given current events, I think America is in that space right now,” says Negrito of the track. The song follows his previous single ‘Plastic Hamburgers’, a rallying cry to “tear down the walls that separate us and face who we really are.”

Regarding the new album, Please Don’t Be Dead, Negrito says: “I wrote this album because I fear for the life of my black son. I fear for the lives of my daughters. I am uncertain about what kind of future they will face. Will someone shoot up their school? Will they become addicted to prescription pills? Will they wind up on the street, sleeping under freeways and overpasses? Will the police murder my son? I came up with the name ‘Please Don’t Be Dead’ because I felt like we’d lost our way as a society — and I know what happens when you chase the wrong things. It’s the story of my life.”

Please Don't Be Dead is the follow up to 2016’s Grammy Award-winning The Last Days Of Oakland, which received worldwide critical acclaim. Fantastic Negrito will tour Europe in May and June, including five UK dates, before returning to the US for an album release event at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco.
