Otherkin September Headline Tour

  • Published in News

Buoyed by the success of ‘All That Remains Won’t Be the Same’, Irish alternative rock band Otherkin increase speed with the release of ‘On & On’.

The band say: 'We were listening to a ton of French House before making 'On & On' and felt inspired to make a song for the dance floor. As we were approaching it from the context of being a guitar band, we thought it would be cool to break the song up with a huge riff, bringing the two worlds together. We paired it with a story of a guy we know who's a conniving, scheming weasel that'll never change his ways, regardless of what happens to him.  This song is like one fist in the air and one middle finger in the air to him.'

Produced and mixed by Jolyon Thomas (Slaves, Royal Blood), ‘On & On’ is the third single from the band this year. ‘Following an exciting Electrowerkz show in London, Otherkin are excited to be heading back out on the road in the UK this September.

Catch them live at the following venues:

Otherkin Respond To Harassment At Gig

  • Published in News

Irish grunge-rockers Otherkin have responded to an incident at their Camden Assembly gig last week, stressing their zero tolerance for any form of predatory behaviour at their shows. In a statement released the following day, Otherkin reiterated their support of safe gigs for women:

“Our gig in Camden last night was incredible. Honestly one of our favourite shows we’ve ever done in the UK, you guys were in it from the off and you didn’t let up once.

But we need to talk about an incident that happened last night: a girl in tears because she was groped in the mosh pit and apologising to me because she was worried that she was ruining our night by mentioning it. It was fucking heartbreaking. This is completely not on; not at an Otherkin show, not anywhere. We play loud, fast music. Mosh pits happen, circle pits happen; but if you think you can use either of those as an excuse to force yourself upon someone trying to enjoy themselves at our show then you best fuck back off to the basement you came from because you are certainly not welcome at an Otherkin gig.

Girls! We love seeing you shredding it in the mosh pit and if this ever happens to you at a gig of ours, please let us or one of our crew know and we’ll kick the prick out straight away. This shit needs to get stamped out of live music.

Much love and see you in the pit.

Luke, Conor, David, and Rob xx”

Otherkin’s debut album OK was released last month and the band are currently touring Europe in support of the release, before returning to the UK and Ireland for the final leg of the tour.
