Natasha Bedingfield Releases ‘Hey Boy’

Globally acclaimed and Grammy-nominated singer Natasha Bedingfield, known for hits like ‘Unwritten’ and ‘Pocket Full of Sunshine’, has released the empowering new single ‘Hey Boy’ from the star-studded soundtrack for Served Like A Girl, a documentary by Lysa Heslov, which reveals the complexity of female veterans' lives and identities through a spectacle like no other, the Ms. Veteran America competition. The funkadelic video features an empowered Bedingfield challenging men in authority, with nods to Harvey Weinstein and President Trump. In early October, Bedingfield announced that she was pregnant with her first child and filmed this video later that month. The video for ‘Hey Boy’ was directed by Kii Arens.

"This song couldn’t come at more pivotal time for me as an artist and as a woman about to bring a little baby boy into the world we are living in," shares Bedingfield. "I love my husband. I already love my son. I love my dad, my brothers and the many good men in my life, but it feels like our world is trying to figure out what being a ‘real man’ is about while too many men of power abuse their authoritative status. I wrote this song with the amazing Linda Perry, as a call for us all to bring our better selves to the table and challenge the more divisive male figures in today’s stressful world."

The single is only available for purchase along with the entirety of the soundtrack, which is available today, as a means of supporting the female veteran based charity Final Salute, for which all proceeds from the soundtrack will be attributed. The soundtrack will also be included in a CD/DVD bundle with the film, which was released on Tuesday, November 7. Along with ‘Hey Boy’, the soundtrack includes a broad catalog of never-before-heard and inspiring songs from fellow talented female vocalists including Pat Benatar, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, P!nk, LION, Lykke Li, Willa Amai, Dorothy, and more.

Cellar Darling Launch Video For 'Six Days'

Switzerland's new wave of folk rock, Cellar Darling, just returned from their mostly sold-out tour with Delain and now prepare to embark on another extensive tour together with Lacuna Coil in Europe. Today the band release an animated music video for 'Six Days' taken from the band's debut album, This Is The Sound.

"It‘s a good day to present you the video to our song 'Six Days', a dark and abstract story about the last man left on earth. We‘ve always wanted this special song to have a visual representation and we knew immediately that if we ever could realise this project, the man for it would be our favourite artist Costin Chioreanu.

Without any guidelines he has managed to capture the atmosphere perfectly. The video really shows what was inside Anna’s head when she wrote the lyrics and recorded the first demo in the middle of the night. When we further worked on this song, we realised once more that we are not really bound to one style of music and that we have the freedom to expand our horizon even more - that‘s why this song will always have a special meaning to us. We hope you love it as much as we do!"

- Anna, Ivo & Merlin
