The Slumdogs Return With Monsters

  • Published in News

The Blackpool lights just started shining brighter with the introduction of The Slumdogs. Freshly signed to Gary Powell’s (The Libertines) label 25 Hour Convenience Store, the four-piece are about to release their debut six-track EP, Where’s Your Sanity? this Friday, and have previewed this excellent track ‘Monsters’ ahead of the release.

Produced by Gavin Monaghan (The Blinders, The Sherlocks), the new EP follows on from The Slumdogs early singles ‘Nightmare’ and Cut The Conversation Short’, which won the band accolades and comparisons to early material by The Clash and Wire.

‘Monsters’, the first track to be taken off the new EP, is the perfect introduction to the quartet as they paint a picture of modern British life, and its dark tendencies, through poetic lyrics and a gritty punk accompaniment. Currently rampaging around the UK on a short run of live dates, the band will also end their year with a big hometown show at Blackpool’s Bootleg Social on December 29.
